Fire Service Youth Champions Of The Republic Bank Laventille Netball League March Past

Port of Spain, Trinidad: August 25, 2015: The Fire Service Youth Netball Team attained the title of March Past Champions at the Opening Ceremony for the 2015 Republic Bank Laventille Netball League. The ceremony was held at Nelson Mandela Park, St. Clair, Port of Spain, on August 16.

The March Past began the afternoon’s proceedings, during which 18 clubs competed. Each club will take part in the League, which will run from August 18 – October 3, 2015, at the Jean Pierre Complex, Port of Spain.

For the past 20 years, the Bank has sponsored the League in an effort to build the Laventille Community, recognising that the sport brings people together in friendly competition. Vijai Ragoonanan, General Manager, Risk Management, highlighted the Bank’s focus, “We have kept our eyes on the prize, because we know that Republic Bank Laventille Netball League enriches the lives of the women in the community; particularly the younger, more impressionable, more vulnerable ones.” he said.

Republic Bank sponsors the League, as part of the Bank’s ongoing corporate social responsibility initiative, Power to Make a Difference.
