Lewis and La Foucade Empower Students In Full Flight!

Port-of-Spain, Trinidad, March 9, 2016: Screams and loud cheers echoed throughout the halls of the Bishops Anstey High School, Port-of-Spain and ASJA Girls College, Tunapuna, recently, as the Republic Bank sponsored motivational secondary school tour, “I Choose to be the One!”, brought with it a surprise guest.

This pleasant uproar was due to the appearance of Feature Speaker, National Olympic Sailor, Andrew Lewis, who accompanied facilitator and Managing Director of In Full Flight, Don La Foucade.

The motivational school tour addresses topics such as; positive self-esteem, development of new mindsets, willingness to take responsibility for one’s choices and development of a ‘will do” mindset, among others. The programme seeks to inspire students nationally by creatively getting them to take more responsibility for their choices in life. Lewis shared some of his experiences with the young ladies, as he encouraged them to believe in themselves, in order to reach for the stars and be the best that they can be, in all aspects of their developmental years.

Speaking on the programme’s vision, Republic Bank’s Social Investment Officer, Nadia Williams, said the tour’s aim is to encourage the students to maintain the necessary values and morals that would assist them in becoming well-rounded and respected individuals in society.

“The Bank’s three year partnership with In Full Flight!, continues to grow from strength to strength each year. Don utilizes different enlightening methods to share profound and valuable messages to youngsters across the country. He has touched the lives of many of our nation’s youth. We have also received positive feedback from both teachers and students with the inclusion of Andrew who shares his experiences as a National Olympian and what it takes to succeed at his sport,” said Williams.

Through the use of animated drama, La Foucade shared a lot of his personal experiences with the students, which had them thoroughly engaged from beginning to end. La Foucade also autographed copies of his inspirational novel entitled, “Facing the Storms of Life…In Full Flight!” All the students were presented with tokens from Republic Bank.
