Port-of-Spain September 16, 2016:Mentor, Friend, Eminent Educator – These were the words used to describe beloved physics & chemistry teacher & author, the late Ernest Norman Lambert, at the commissioning of the E.N. Lambert Pan Theatre, at Queens Royal College on Tuesday. The Pan Theatre and the school’s computer laboratory were recently refurbished by Republic Bank, as part of its Power to Make a Difference Programme.
Speaking at the unveiling, Dean of Students, Natasha Lewis dos Santos, said “Norman Lambert was a dynamic educator who drew relevance to his subjects, from life, sport, art and music. He had a passion for life and all genres of music especially the steelpan.” The school felt that the gesture was fitting in honor of Mr. Lambert, or “Lambie” as he was fondly called by the students, for his commitment to education and youth development.
Addressing the students and faculty members, Republic Bank’s General Manager, Group Marketing & Communications, Michelle Palmer-Keizer, encouraged the young men to live a life of purpose. Palmer-Keizer said “Do not major in the minors of life. Rather, spend your life nurturing and developing your talents, not only for financial gain, but for the upliftment and furtherance of the world.”
Republic Bank remains committed to supporting opportunities that allow for the development of our nation’s youth.
