Republic Bank Limited Opens New Fyzabad Branch

Fyzabad Guapo Main Road, Fyzabad, November 11, 2014: Republic Bank Limited opened the doors to its brand new Fyzabad branch, at a simple ceremony held on Monday November 10. The Branch is located at #198, Fyzabad Guapo Main Road, Fyzabad and is located obliquely opposite the former branch.

The new Branch has the capacity to accommodate close to 34 staff members and stands on 6,600 sq.ft of land, which comprises a structural steel frame and external curtain walls.

Sharing some of the history of the Fyzabad branch, Republic Bank’s Executive Director, Derwin Howell, said Republic Bank first made its mark in Fyzabad during the post war years, adding that, vigorous expansion began in Trinidad and Tobago, as the World commenced its recovery from the Second World War.

“It was under the Barclay’s name at the time and could not adequately cope with the growing demands for its services, functioning with only the Marine (Independence) Square and the High Street Branches,” he noted.

Howell added that the community of Fyzabad continues to grow and expand, and as a result, it was vital that more suitable banking facilities were needed for the people of the community and environs.

“Having outgrown our former branch, we have built a new branch with a modern, more spacious interior, better visibility by security guards and wheelchair accessible ABM’s,” he said.

Howell along with other Banking officials, were on hand to witness the opening of the new branch and welcome its customers. The edifice will provide customers with a safe, convenient and ample parking facility for up to 25 vehicles.

This new facility is just another of Republic Bank’s many expansion initiatives, geared towards excelling in its core value, of providing to the people of Trinidad and Tobago superior Customer Service. To date, Republic Bank has expanded its reach to the Arima community and environs via Shoppes of Arima, Atlantic Plaza Agency, Point Lisas and in Tobago with the opening of the Auchenskeoch Branch, Lowlands.
