Port of Spain, Trinidad, June 1, 2012: Republic Bank has advised that despite reduced numbers of staff turning out to work today, all its branches were open, with the exception of its Carrington Street Branch.
Opening hours were adjusted, however, for today only, as follows - all Mall branches opened until 5:00pm and all other branches, which would normally have been closed to the public from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, remained open during that time and closed for the day at 4:00pm. The Bank acknowledged that some customers may have experienced some inconvenience at a few branches today, due to the temporary change in operating hours and expressed its gratitude to them for their patience and understanding. The Bank also once again expressed appreciation to those many loyal and committed branch staff members who turned out to work in spite of calls to them to stay away, as well as those from its Specialist Units who went out to branches to assist with their operations. They have demonstrated responsibility to their jobs and genuine caring for their customers.
The Bank encourages all customers to continue to utilise its alternative banking channels - RepublicOnline, TeleBanker and ABMs - and gave the commitment that it would make every effort to minimise any inconvenience to customers visiting its branches during this period.
