“The Right to Education:Republic Bank’s Social Investment Officer, Nadia Williams (4th from left), participates in a “Reading Circle” at the Adult Literacy Tutors Association (ALTA) headquarters, in Belmont, during a visit on September 17. In upholding their commitment to enabling literacy for all, Republic Bank has sponsored these adult Reading Circles for six consecutive years through its Power to Make A Difference programme. Throughout the years, ALTA has been able to empower numerous persons to overcome the challenge of illiteracy, so that they could be better equipped to take advantage of the opportunities available to them. ALTA was formed in 1992 with a focus on helping adults who could not read and write.”
