Port-of-Spain, Trinidad, October 26, 2016: “If you focus on your distraction, it becomes an attraction and after a while there will be a subtraction.” This was just some of the words of advice shared by Don La Foucade, Motivational Speaker and Managing Director of In Full Flight!, at the Culture House Youth Motivational Seminar, entitled; “The Eagle in Me”, held at the Audio Visual Room, NALIS, Port-of-Spain.

The one-day Seminar held on October 24 was designed to create awareness in participants of the vast potential hidden within them and to sensitize them to the need to discover ways and means of tapping into this valuable inner resource, by working from the inside out. The Eagle in Me, is part of Project A.W.A.R.E (A Wonderful and Rare Earth) and sponsored by Republic Bank Limited, under its corporate social investment programme, the Power to Make a Difference.

The “word guy”, as La Foucade is affectionately called, had the students rolling with laughter, as he delivered some real life issues while adding a “lyrical twist” to the messages.

Sharing the Bank’s vision, Social Investment Officer, Nadia Williams said the Bank sees seminars like these, as life-changing events.

“Seminars like these are a step in the right direction as they help to develop, motivate and give students the right ingredients to live a successful and enriching life,” Williams said. She added, “We continue to be proud to work along with partners such as Culture House and Don La Foucade, in helping to engage the students and bringing out the best in them.”

Some of the schools represented were: San Juan South, St. George’s College, Trinity College, Moka and Tunapuna Government Secondary. Also speaking at the event was Aunty Thea, the Mystic Storyteller. She related, “It is said that human beings utilize only 10% of their potential. If this is in indeed correct, can you imagine what an amazing world this could become, if more people realize this and begin to utilize and exercise more of their inner potential?”

Republic Bank takes pride in partnering with In Full Flight! and Culture House, to bring these motivational seminars to the young people of the nation, as programmes such as these, help them to make a positive difference in their lives, their families and their communities.
